Nathpuri village

Students of First year Architecture visited Nathpuri village between 28th to 31st December, 2015 situated in Panchmahal district and inhabited by ͚Baria͛ community. The concept behind this tour is to give students firsthand experience by living, studying, documenting and designing vernacular buildings in rural areas.

Students also visited Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for finest example of Indo-Islamic architecture.

From this experience students learnt how culture, climate and climate influence architecture, how use of local material could be beneficial in resource optimization.
