As part of Academic curriculum, a Joint study programme was planned between The Faculty of Architecture, SCET, Surat and Department of Architecture, D.Y.Patil.College of Technology, Kolhapur during 3rd to 9th January 2016. . The intention behind this joint study programme was to provide for a cross culture learning opportunity to students of both the Institutes. The Study Programme was conducted as a 4 days’ workshop at D.Y.P.C.T., Kolhapur, focusing on gaining understanding for Kolhapur city at first, followed by identifying a suitable project and site. Eminent Ar. Shirish Beri was invited as a juror. Four best projects shortlisted by the faculties were presented before the juror.
Through this Exchange program students learnt how a context could create emphasis on built form. How cities should be studied and various elements of space making could be mapped, analysed and future design strategy derived from them.
